The actual number of Kyrgyzstan casinos is something in question. As details from this country, out in the very remote interior section of Central Asia, tends to be arduous to get, this might not be too astonishing. Whether there are two or three legal casinos is the thing at issue, perhaps not in fact the most earth-shaking slice of information that we do not have.
What no doubt will be true, as it is of the lion’s share of the old USSR states, and certainly correct of those in Asia, is that there will be a good many more not allowed and backdoor gambling halls. The adjustment to approved betting did not encourage all the illegal places to come away from the dark into the light. So, the contention regarding the number of Kyrgyzstan’s gambling dens is a tiny one at best: how many accredited ones is the item we are seeking to answer here.
We know that located in Bishkek, the capital metropolis, there is the Casino Las Vegas (an amazingly unique name, don’t you think?), which has both gaming tables and video slots. We can also see both the Casino Bishkek and the Xanadu Casino. The two of these contain 26 one armed bandits and 11 table games, divided amidst roulette, blackjack, and poker. Given the remarkable likeness in the square footage and layout of these two Kyrgyzstan gambling dens, it may be even more surprising to find that both are at the same address. This seems most strange, so we can no doubt state that the list of Kyrgyzstan’s casinos, at least the accredited ones, ends at 2 members, 1 of them having adjusted their title just a while ago.
The country, in common with nearly all of the ex-USSR, has experienced something of a rapid change to free market. The Wild East, you could say, to allude to the lawless ways of the Wild West a century and a half back.
Kyrgyzstan’s casinos are actually worth visiting, therefore, as a piece of anthropological analysis, to see dollars being gambled as a type of civil one-upmanship, the apparent consumption that Thorstein Veblen talked about in 19th century u.s.a..
